Why this prize is special
The Auchentoshan Select from the early 2000s is a now-discontinued expression that once stood as the entry-level single malt in the Lowland distillery’s range. Distinctive for its triple distillation process, Auchentoshan produces a notably smooth and delicate spirit, and this Select edition highlighted the brand’s hallmark of light, floral, and approachable whisky.
Though it lacked an age statement, the Select was often praised for its clean character and balance of vanilla, citrus, gentle spice, and soft malt sweetness — making it a favourite everyday dram and now a collectible piece of Auchentoshan history.
