Competition Details
Prize Details
A beautifully restored 1975 Suzuki GT550, rebuilt with a full strip-down restoration in 2021 and followed up with further mechanical work since. It starts easily, runs cleanly, and delivers the smooth, distinctive feel these triples are known for.
This bike also has a bit of CCC history. We previously raffled it off and it was won by Robert Corne on 11.02.2025. We later spotted it back up for sale and, as it’s one of our favourites, we decided to buy it back to give you another chance to win it.
The restoration included an engine rebuild (retaining original standard-size pistons), powder-coated frame, factory-spec paint finish, rechromed brightwork, and stainless rims/spokes. The front brake has been upgraded to twin discs using genuine Suzuki GT750 components.
It’s fitted with Higgspeed expansion chambers, which give it a crisp exhaust note and suit the bike well. The original exhausts are not included. First UK registered in 2021 on an age-related plate, with V5 present and a good history file including restoration receipts and workshop manuals.
Why this prize is special
Mileage note
The original clocks showed around 5,000 miles before being replaced during the restoration. The engine inspection at strip-down (including original bore and visible factory honing marks) was consistent with low mileage, but this can’t be formally verified.
Summary
A well-restored, well-maintained GT550 Indy with sensible upgrades, strong cosmetic presentation, and recent mechanical work. Starts easily, rides very well, and pulls cleanly through the rev range.
