Won by Rob A. • July 20, 2026
A fully rebuilt and restored 1953 Triumph pre-unit chopper, built around a factory rigid Triumph frame and powered by a T110 650cc engine with a 5-fin iron head. The engine has been fully rebuilt, and it comes with a USB from the engine builder containing detailed photos from the rebuild. It’s been put together with a sensible mix of period style and modern reliability parts, including an Alton generator, BTH solid-state magneto, and a Thunder Engineering oil filter setup. A new Amal 928 carb is fitted, and the velocity stack/pod filter setup is included with the bike.
Finishing details include paint by Matt Paint, a Wassell-style tank, and a well-chosen wheel/tyre setup: wheels built by Willis Wheels, with a 21” Firestone front and 19” Pirelli MT53 rear. The plastic-style kicker pedal has been removed and replaced with an original Triumph item. Registered on an age-related plate, and supplied with an authentication certificate from the Triumph Owners Club.
A top example of a well-built pre-unit Triumph chopper, complete with a documented engine rebuild, a solid parts list, and correct age-related registration. Set up with a mix of practical upgrades and classic styling, it’s a well-sorted bike that’s ready to be used, shown, and enjoyed.
